For this course, we will be holding virtual office hours and lectures using the Zoom online meeting platform Links to an external site.. We will use the same Zoom room each week. Connection information, including the meeting URL and phone number (if needed), will be communicated in the <course syllabus? course modules? course navigation area?>.
What is Zoom?
Zoom is a cloud-based conferencing tool that will allow us to connect remotely online. Visit the Zoom Help Center Links to an external site. if you have questions about how to connect or want to make sure your system and connection speeds meet the minimum Zoom requirements Links to an external site.. Our first online meeting will give you an opportunity to test out the platform.
What you will need in order to attend a Zoom webconference:
- PC or Mac (Zoom will also run in Linux, but WPI ITS is not able to provide support for connection issues).
- Strong wired or wireless internet connection (for video, WPI ITS recommends a wired connection).
- Webcam (optional)
- Headset or built-in microphone/speakers. A headset is preferred, but not required.
