User Dashboard

The User Dashboard is the first thing you see when you log into Canvas. The User Dashboard helps you see what is happening in ALL your courses (1). You can edit the color of each course box by clicking on the Pencil icon and choosing the color of your choice.

Links to your personal settings can be found under Account on the global navigation menu on left-hand side of the screen (2). Links to your Courses, the Calendar, and your Inbox are below this.

Your To-Do list on the right-hand side outlines any tests or assignments that you have coming up. 

You can return to your User Dashboard at any time by clicking the Dashboard icon in the left-hand navigation menu. 

Course Dashboard

When you click on a Course from the Dashboard or under the Courses link on the left-hand side, you will be taken to the Course Dashboard.

The Course Dashboard helps you navigate your course and manage your work. You will find links to course content on the left-hand side of the screen. A homepage for your course will appear in the middle of the screen and will look different depending on how your professor has set it up. The Sidebar on the right-hand side shows a To Do list of assignments or what's Coming Up in your coursework.
