Portfolio Video

  • Due Sep 11, 2024 by 11:59pm
  • Points 20
  • Submitting a text entry box, a website url, a media recording, or a file upload

Please make a short video showing your favorite highlights from the work you've done in this class so far, even though we're only a few weeks in.

One of the ultimate goals of this course is to come up with a decent portfolio piece, or collection of pieces, and produce a final project video presentation about them. This assignment is practice for that.

Instructions

  • Record your screen and show off some of the work you have done
  • Use whatever tool you like, but OBS Studio Links to an external site. is what I would recommend
  • The video should not be too long, ideally less than 3 minutes
  • This can include the creative graphics (circles fork, solar system fork)
  • This can also include discussion of the datasets that interest you most
  • Feel free to include any open/burning questions you have or obstacles/frustrations you have run into

Submission

  • Please post your video in our class Discord (uploading to YouTube as unlisted works pretty well, or you can upload directly into Discord)
  • Submit your video in Canvas. If you have trouble uploading, just submit text saying "Posted in Discord" and I'll see it there

Grading Criteria

  • A video should be created and submitted
  • The video should show your screen and have your voice narrating
  • It's fine if it's rough! Don't spend too much time on it. Just pull up some work and step through it casually.

Good luck!
